Small Builds: A Bird Box And A Few Spoons
Not everything that leaves this workshop is a kitchen piece. This one's a mix - some detail carving under the porch roof on a wet morning, a bowl started in the woods behind the cottage, a spoon finished looking out at the coast, and a bird box I made for the gable end of the workshop itself, which took longer to get right than most things twice its size. Small builds like the bird box don't get sold, but they're some of the most enjoyable things to make, and they usually teach me something that ends up in the pieces that do.
